Walk Cycle

Our next project was to complete a walk cycle.  I created a businessman that was on his way to work in a big city.  He is determined to get to his job on time.  I enjoyed creating a little background for this project to add a little story to the character.

Weight

Phineas is trying to pick up a heavy toolbox to begin working on his project with Ferb.  I feel much more comfortable with harmony now than I did in the beginning.  Phineas had lots of specific details and very short legs so it took a lot of time to make sure that he looked like himself!

Headturn

Bubbles! Here Bubbles turns her head as she's ready for the adventure awaiting her.  Her eyes were very difficult to draw as they are very big and I had her completely turned to the side, so it was challenging to have her eyes move from a side profile to a front profile.

Flour Sack Action

This flour sack had a rough morning and was poisoned with some coffee.  The poison was so strong that he instantly fell to the ground and never got back up.  It was definitely a challenge to make his fall look natural, as it was intended to look like a fall/slip rather than a flop.  Whoever wanted to poison this flour sack is just evil!

Flour Sack Gestures

For this assignment, we were challenged to add emotions to floursacks.  Although these are all the same flour sacks, their posture can affect how we read their feelings.  My favorite one from these to draw was definitely the confident floursack, she is living her best life.

Overlapping Action

For our overlapping projects, we created a pendulum swinging on a square block.  After the square reaches the other side of the canvas, the pendulum continues to swing until it reaches a natural stop.  It was very tedious to maintain volume control and to get the pendulum to come to a relaxed stop.

Bouncing Ball

After becoming a little more familiar with Harmony, we moved on to the bouncing ball project.  This project was fun to make and fun to exaggerate the gestures of the ball with squashes and stretches.  This ball was ready to take on any square in its way! :)
